What are we all about?
As a group of young, determined girls, who have come together from different faiths, we have realised the it is the avid divisions of religion, culture and race that are hindering an infinite amount of lifelong friendships and love between people especially the youth.
Nowadays, in this day and age, news and media sources have created a wall between the different segments of society, making it a lot more difficult to create a solid basis of understanding between dissimilar sectors. People's opinions and ideas are heavily influenced by that around them, by what others think and do, and the world today is filled with prejudice - prejudice that could be easily changed for the better, if communities come together, integrated and created the foundations for understanding, unity and love.
As young girls, growing up within our own bubbles of familiarity within our religious communities, we have not had the chance to truly learn about other faiths, talk to others and create such understanding. Yet, we have now been blessed, taking part in JLGB NCS which aims to provide life-changing opportunities that young teenagers of faith would usually not be entitled to have.
Blossoming from our integrated experiences, our project - Bridging the Division - has arisen, aiming to create understanding between different faiths - predominantly Judaism, Islam and Sikhism - so that we can work together to create a more united, cohesive society.
